Life is hard and takes a lot out of us each day. It is like a leaky bucket. Since we all know this, we should try to fill our bucket with moments of happiness each and every day.
Goals are cool. Goals are important, but too much time and effort is spent in thinking about and visualizing "the goal" and not enough time is spent thinking about and planning how the journey and all of the little steps of the journey to get to the goal. Ultimately it is the journey and not the goal that is most important!
Big things are not accomplished with big steps and actions. All big things are accomplished by doing lots and lots of small steps. Kaizen is an ancient philosophy that talks about a 1,000 mile journey starting with a single step.
It has been said that our purpose in life should be to pursue happiness. This does not mean pursue things that make us happy, but rather pursue things that bring us happiness - health, being challenged intellectually, connecting with people and doing good.
The Serenity Prayer encourages us to control the things that we can control and let the rest go. It also talks about having he wisdom to know the difference.
